Tuesday the King and Queen of Sweden will host a banquet at the Royal Palace in honour of the King and Queen of the Netherlands on the first day of their State Visit to Sweden.
Any speculations about what jewels we might see?
Im guessing the ladies attending will be HM the Queen of Sweden, HM the Queen of the Netherlands, HRH the Crown Princess of Sweden and HRH the Duchess of Varmland. Im not sure Princess Christina will attend but she might.
On wednesday the 12th the Dutch Royal couple will host a concert as the counter presentation but i'd be most surprised if that was to be a tiara event. It would be a first in his reign.
I hope that Queen Silvia, who was absent from the recent representation dinner because of a cold, will have recovered and will be able to be present.
Of course, I know we all dream of a grand diamond tiaras "battle" between our two most-glittering queens: the big Braganza tiara (along with the full Brazilian diamond parure) for Queen Silvia, versus the House diamond tiara (along with the full matching parure) for Queen Maxima...
Queen Silvia already donned the full Brazilian diamond parure for Queen Beatrix's State visit to Sweden in 1986:
As an alternative option, the Leuchtenberg parure will always be a nice match with the blue ribbon of the Dutch Civil Order of Merit of the Netherlands Lion. Queen Silvia had worn it during the Swedish State visits to the Netherlands in 1976 and 2009.
I would also love to see again Queen Victoria of Sweden's pearl and diamond stomacher (worn by Queen Silvia only once, for a State banquet at Charlottenburg Palace during the Swedish State visit to Germany, on 6th October, 2016), or the Connaught Scarab necklace (bequeathed by the late Princess Lilian to Queen Silvia, but never worn). The latter would be a nice option for a black-tie return event.
I love your scarab necklace idea for the return concert. It would be nice to see it again.
As for the main event tomorrow night im not sure. I think Maxima might opt for something other than the House diamonds. I think Queen Silvia if she's fully recovered will wear the Branganca diamonds. Maxima might opt for other pieces. If she does at least the original version of Queen Emma's diamond tiara with the stars might be an interesting option. As would the ornate Pearl tiara with all it's prongs.
I fear we might be served with either the Mellerio ruby tiara or the sapphire tiara.
Princess Victoria seems to have grown very fond of the necklace/tiara she inherited from princess Lilian. So im hoping she and Sofia will turn to the family collection for their main jewels tomorrow. Sofia in the amethysts or the aquamarines might be a stunning surprise. Victoria in the forget-me-not diamond tiara would also look amazing.
Considering tha Queen Maxima has worn older dresses for many of her state visits, im expecting the gown worn for the dinner she and WA hosted for Abdullah II and Rania of Jordan a few years ago and worn in a re-dyed darker shade for Prinsjesdag. The yellow/orange gown would work with the pale blue of the Swedish order and either, pearls diamonds or sapphires to make a nice image.

Braganza tiara for Queen Silvia, the House diamond tiara for Queen Maxima, amethyst necklace tiara for Crown Princess Victoria, and diamond tiara with emeralds for Princess Sofia
