Next month, Christie’s is auctioning a ‘exquisite natural pearl and diamond brooch formerly the property of Empress Maria Theresa of Austria’, which seems almost identical to the Pearl and Diamond Corsage Brooch of Empress Frederik of Germany, which was inherited by her daughter, Queen Sophia of Greece, and somehow made its way into the collection of Princess Alexandra of Kent, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy, who was last pictured in the Corsage Brooch in 2019.

Looking at the brooch, the diamond frame is almost identical, but the pearls are different from the pearls in Princess Alexandra’s Brooch. What do you think?
