Some minor changes and additions will be undertaken by the Crown Jeweller, in keeping with the longstanding tradition that the insertion of jewels is unique to the occasion, and reflects the Consort’s individual style
These changes will in particular pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, as the Crown will be reset with the Cullinan III, IV and V diamonds. The diamonds were part of Queen Elizabeth II’s personal jewellery collection for many years and were often worn by Her late Majesty as brooches.

I suspect that, behind the polite pretext to pay tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II by wearing some of her favorite and most iconic brooches, the choice of Queen Mary's crown is also a clever way NOT to wear the other available Queen Consort's crown, i.e. Queen (Mother) Elizabeth's crown, and thus to avoid the tricky diplomatical/cultural debate about wearing the Koh-i-Noor diamond, which, in the eyes of some, is stained by its "colonial" origin, and which is claimed back by India as an Indian looted treasure...
Regarding Queen Mary's crown: as the arches are (and have always been) detachable, I guess that wearing four arches instead of eight will not really damage the overall structure, as each arch must be independant from the other ones.
When Queen Mary's crown was created in 1911, the Koh-i-Noor had been mounted as the centre of the front cross pattée of the cross. But since the Koh-i-Noor was reset in 1937 onto Queen Elizabeth's crown (where it is still today), it has been replaced by a crystal replica on Queen Mary's crown. But for King George VI's coronation in 1937, Queen Mary replaced the crystal replica with real diamonds, choosing the Cullinan V brooch. So Camilla's choice to adapt this very same brooch on her/Queen Mary's crown will be a choice consistent with this crown's history.
I just wonder if Queen Camilla will wear as many diamond rivieres as Queen Mary...

Wich big diamonds are in de crown of the Queen Mother. The Koh-I-Nohr of course but the 2 other stone are that cullinan diamonds?

Cullinan 3 and 4 are the ones at the top and in the band of the crown. The brooch set with Cullinan 5 will replace the rock christal that is on the front where the Koh-i-noor was during her own coronation.
I like this crown and the proposed alterations. Im actually like the fact that they are taking it back to 4 arches in line with the Imperial state crown. It will make the two crowns more harmonious and that is fitting for a Royal couple.
By making these alterations permanent the king would put all the important stones of the star of Africa in the crown jewels so they would be visible for those visiting the jewel house in the Tower in the future. It would also provide future monarchs and their consorts suitable crowns to be used in their coronations.
As Queen Mary's crown is more elegant in design than those of Queen Alexandra or Queen Elizabeth the Queen-mother the best option is chosen. It also does not have the baggage of the dispute over the ownership of it's main diamonds.
