Indeed, quite disappointing so far. Queen Camilla seems to be wearing Queen Victoria's Coronation diamond riviere. No robes or diadems for the ladies of the Royal Family either. Just the robes of their chivalric orders and hats or fascinators. Most disappointing! I found the service uplifting and moving despite its ancient origins. I liked the mixed attire of The King, a Georgian waistcoat along with what appeared to be military trousers with buckled shoes. I appreciated the recycling of pieces of George VI’s attire, the robe particularly even though the ermine showed its age it was charming. I’m a bigger fan of Queen Mary’s crown with all the arches intact, but it looked marvelous nonetheless on Queen Camilla. I loved seeing St Edward’s crown close up and in such detail, same with The Orb. Seeing some royal ladies and gents in chivalric robes was a nice compromise to us not seeing them in ermine. Anne looked outstanding in the robes of The Thistle. I couldn’t see Zara, I’m curious if she wore her OBE pinned to her dress. Previous Message I live in America. The music was amazing as is the parade back to the palace. I love the outfit of princess Charlotte and Penny Mordaunt looked good too (would have liked a floor length gown but still). She did carry that sword beautifully. I have to say the crowns were less impressive than i had expected. I agree that reusing older garments was both appropriate as well as effective. I was very impressed by the service. I understand many people on this board would have wanted tiaras, but there were only a limited number of attendees who would have owned one. I think it would have looked strange with twenty tiaras among 2000 people, and I think they found a good dress-code which made most attendees feel included. With so much ancient ritual, it was already going to be somewhat quaint for our modern eyes. A bit like s fairytale book. I think they managed a good mix of the ancient and the new. Tiaras should have mean evening dresses. We did not see the arrival of the Royals , but they look fine , some with uniform , some not. It is great time my King may receive the Garter. Recently I expressed my disappointment about the invitation card which thought to be not appropriate to what I expected to a coronation. I have to apologise. I was wrong. Sitting before the TV, indispensable for friends and work, with the best tea and cake I could get, I am very impressed. Charles has indeed succeeded in transposing the coronation into a contemporary form and giving it an integrative meaning. This would not have been possible in the earlier, indeed historically never uniform form. Coronations showed and manifested the class hierarchies, nobility, clergy and everything that came below. That can work no longer, even if an changed coronation service cannot changed social riffs. The liturgy was carried by different participants, diverse in gender, skin colour, origin and with meanings of social engagement or special merits. I see this as his message. These are the new "peers". My beloved tiaras and all the inherited jewellery would have been rather a wrong signal. Queen Camilla was escorted during the Coronation service by two "ladies in attendance": her own sister, Annabel Elliot, and Fiona Mary Petty-Fitzmaurice, Marchioness of Lansdowne. Both wore impressive jewels: a large diamond choker necklace for Annabel Elliot, and a big diamond brooch for Lady Landsdowne. Both of them also wore a diamond brooch depicting (I think) Queen Camilla's cypher, and diamond bracelets:

Or the jeweler had more than one set available for sale. Previous Message I thought exactly the same when I saw larger pictures of Pss Eugenie and her jewels! Before seing Pss Eugenie wearing those jewels I assumed they were Pss Nina's property (afterall her father is a bilionaire and could have bought the set as a gift to her daughter, or she could have bought it herself...). Well, I was hoping the bilionaire father would follow the example of the Millers... Any idea what jewelry house the set came from?

The set is part of their Albemarle collection “inspired by the pattern of diamonds that encircles the base of the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara”. Unfortunately the whole series is not a particularly successful attempt to implement this inspiration. Since these are not one-off pieces, it is quite possible that Princess Nina owns her set.

It seemed there was some level of coordination. Senior royal ladies, except Princess Anne, wore the mantle of the RVO. The men in their Garter robe. Previous Message I imagine that is was matter of comfort. I suspect that the RVO mantle is a lot lighter than the Garter robes.
