Im not a fan of the converted necklace as a tiara. I like the other jewels with the dress though. The Dutch collection could do with a second sapphire tiara that is smaller than the large one so this necklace can go back to it's original function.

Great photos! Do you think the 5 elements from Queen Wilhelmina's wedding gift parure could be used to give the current emerald tiara another version?
That would require 5 elements to make 5 prongs. If the sapphires from those elements can be used there it would lead to a much more appealing diadem than this one.
I don't think it was ever discussed but I suppose the necklace is set with sapphires from the wedding gift parure? As far as I know Wilhelmina only wore it with pearls. Juliana started wearing it with sapphires.

I think the necklace-tiara would look slightly better with the two original side elements (used to attach silk ribbons) added back. The tiara sides now end quite abruptly so to speak. I also wonder whether this piece ( originally a dog collar necklace) was in fact created for 'double usage' as Jewel connaisseur Akkermans tends to say.

That is an interesting idea. When Emma gave Wilhelmina the necklace for her wedding the queen did not require ruby, sapphire or emerald pieces but could do with a lighter diamond or diamond and pearl necklace. So you could very well be right that the sapphire version only came after the diadem and necklace of Wilhelmina's large sapphire wedding gift set were broken up.
Queen Emma's diamond tiara also has an option for one or three central stones to be replaced by other colour stones. I would love to see it with emeralds or sapphires. Considering the emerald diadem has various emeralds set in diamonds of a similar size i think it might be easy to do.
