From "Take One" by Rebecca Bricker, on page 35, the exact quote was this: "Only two British royals---Princess Alexandra and the Duchess of Kent---were named in the Duchess of Windsor's will. [Each niece receives jewelry.] The bulk of the estate was left to Paris' Pasteur Institute, now a leader in AIDS research."
Was either Princess Alexandra or the Duchess of Kent pictured wearing any jewel pieces they inherited from the Duchess of Windsor? Does anyone know what jewel pieces were they?
I believe that Princess Michael was seen with some jewelry.

Yes, supposedly there is a ruby brooch of dangling cherries which were once the tasseled ends of a ruby necklace worn by The Duchess. Why The Duchess would gift this to Marie-Christine I do not know, and by all accounts her mind was gone by 1979 and she wouldn’t have been able to receive the newlywed Kents anyway. But that’s the story, true or not.

There was a pair of leopard earrings with emeralds she put up for auction around 2010 and i believe there were some sapphire pieces as well.
The main part of her jewels were inherited from Princess Marina. Marie-Christine herself altered certain pieces especially her diamond and pearl festoon tiara. Still in that she is no different from her sister-in-law the Duchess of Kent who seems to have altered her all diamond wedding bandeau into the current Kent diamond and pearl tiara. The duke and duchess sold their main tiara, whereas Marie-Christine is still wearing both tiara's her husband was left by his mother. Though there have been rumours that the diamond fringe is no longer set with all diamonds but that the larger stones have been replaced by fake ones.

Well the bottom row of diamonds from the Kent Pearl Festoon tiara was replaced by pearls that is certain but i don't know if the fringe tiara has really been robbed of it's diamonds. Marie-Christine has not had a very positive press in the UK. It might just have been another story to make her and prince Michael look bad. I think they are to be recommended for retaining their heirlooms and not publicly selling them. Though i wonder what will happen to the larger pieces once the prince and princess are no longer alive. Lord Frederick and Lady Gabriella have no use for such pieces. His daughters might wear one on their wedding day but that is it. I think that the diamond daisies might work just as well.

So…. Perhaps Some Stones are fake?
