Could someone have in his files a Group Picture of the Royals at the Wedding ? I wanted to see my Prince Leopold and Princess Astrid attending in 1929.

Re: Wedding of Prince Olav of Norway with Princess Martha of sweden Help !
That's a good picture. But would you mind to identify who these people were in the picture? I recognized a few people: The Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth), Prince Olav of Norway and Princess Martha of Sweden, Princess Ingrid of Sweden (Queen of Denmark), Queen Maud of Norway, and the tall gentleman on the left side as seen by me could be Crown Prince of Sweden (Ingrid's father and later King of Sweden). But that was about it. Could anyone identify each person in each row? Thank you in advance! (and what year and where was it taken?)

Re: Wedding of Prince Olav of Norway with Princess Martha of sweden Help !
This is a group photo taken at the Royal Palace in Oslo in connection with the wedding of Crown Prince Olav and Princess Märtha, so the year is 1929. It is showing the guests attending the wedding, though sadly not in their gala attire. (I would love to see that kind of photo, but to my knowledge if there is one it has not yet been published anywhere). There is no mention of the bride's sister Astrid attending the wedding, nor her husband Leopold.
Sitting from left to right: Princess Thyra of Denmark, Princess Ingeborg of Sweden (bride's mother), the bride and groom, Queen Maud of Norway, Crown Princess Louise of Sweden and the Duchess of York
Standing from left to right: Count Carl Bernadotte, Crown Prince Gustav Adolph of Sweden, Prince Carl jr of Sweden (brother to the bride), the Duke of York, Countess Folke Bernadotte, Prince Valdemar of Denmark, Princess Ingrid of Sweden, Prince George of Greece, King Haakon VII of Norway, Count Folke Bernadotte, Princess Margaretha of Denmark (born Princess of Sweden and sister to the bride), Prince Gustav of Denmark, Prince Carl of Sweden, Countess Carl Bernadotte, Prince Axel of Denmark and Prince Eugene of Sweden. Sitting on the floor in the front: Prince George and Prince Flemming.

A photo from inside the Oslo Cathedral. Some of the tiaras can be seen, but they are very blurry. My guesses are:
The bride’s side: Princess Ingeborg - the emerald tiara Crown Princess Louise - Queen Sophia’s nine prong tiara Countess Folke (Estelle) Bernadotte - her own diamond bandeau Countess Carl Bernadotte - a diamond bandeau At least three more ladies with tiara/bandeau
The groom’s side: Queen Maud - the Maltese cross tiara Maybe we see the back of the Duchess of York (sitting next to Prince Valdemar) wearing a bandeau? The other ladies are unfortunately sitting behind the pulpit

Wow! You must have used a magnifier to be able to spot which tiara on which head in that picture! 😲👀 A good job, Knightship!

On the swedish website Filmarkivet you can see move scenes inside the church.
You can also see when the royal guests leaves the car, and there you can clearly see the royal ladies tiaras. I can´t identify the tiara of the Duchess of York.
If you can´t open the link, just search in google :

What a treasure! I had never seen this footage before and I honestly thought we had to do with those blurry photos taken inside the cathedral.
Am I right in thinking that Princess Thyra is the first lady getting out of the car after Crown Prince Gustav Adolph at timestamp 13:58? If so, am I also right in thinking that she is wearing Queen Josephine's Diamond tiara?
Unfortunately I am not able to identify the tiara worn by the Duchess of York either. In some newspaper articles it is very unhelpfully referred to as a diamond tiara...
I will definitely watch this clip over and over again. A real treat, so thank you for alerting us of the existance of the clip.
Thank you, Claes! I have never seen this before, what a treat.

Perhaps the Duchess of York was wearing Lotus Flower Tiara which later was worn both by Princess Margaret, Countess Snowdon, and Kate Duchess of Cambridge?

Could someone have in his files a Group Picture of the Royals at the Wedding ? I wanted to see my Prince Leopold and Princess Astrid attending in 1929.
Some of you said the wedding was in 1929, but what month and day was it, please?
Never mind!! A minute or so ago, I saw the captioned mention of the month and day in the film link given by Claes, even though I don't know the Norweigan language. It's March 19, 1929. Thanks anyway.

On the swedish website Filmarkivet you can see move scenes inside the church.
You can also see when the royal guests leaves the car, and there you can clearly see the royal ladies tiaras. I can´t identify the tiara of the Duchess of York.
If you can´t open the link, just search in google :

Re: Found : Princess Astrid, the bride's Sister and Prince Leopold of the Belgians
A kind member of the Royal Forums wrote me that Prince Leopold and Princess Astrid were in east Asia from December 1928 to May 1929.

Thank you for sharing it with us here. This was of course before the time of frequent commercial flights world wide so it must have been difficult for them to make it back to Oslo in time for the wedding.
