Wurttemberg family members are selling some 200 pieces in November. Philip von Wurttemberg is handling the sale. For some reason, the NY Times says he's a "distant relative" of the sellers, but the items seem to come from the Catholic (his) branch. Does anyone have any more information?

Duke Philip von Württemberg is handling the sale, yes with his new company: Philipp Württemberg Art Advisory GmbH. Because Duke Eugen Eberhard of the other branch died last year. So the vault would be opened, and some interesting Toscana and Bulgarian royal jewels came up to the light from both families :-) The first match is the pearl and diamond tiara which was owned by Maria Immaculata of Austria, when she married Duke Robert of Württemberg in 1900. Starting with New York from today, 7 January, followed by Cologne, Paris, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Dubai, Taipei and London. This extraordinary single owner collection will be offered in two dedicated auctions on 6 & 7 November, alongside the Magnificent Jewels sale taking place on 8 November during Sotheby’s Luxury Week in Genevaregards Ursula
