Is Ingrid Alexandra wearing new earrings? They fit her tiara perfectly but i don't recall having seen them before? Princess Ingrid Alexandra wore CP Martha’s earrings, a wedding gift from Princess Thyra of Denmark in 1929. She also wore Martha’s diamond art deco bracelet. I was very happy to see so many tiaras together again (though it was not that long ago we had a very glittering Golden Jubilee celebration in Sweden). When looking at the photos my attention was also drawn to Crown Princess Mary's bracelet. Is this one we have seen previously? Is it safe to say that it is a large Sapphire? Antique or new? Thank you for these beautiful photos. The brooch Isabella wears in her hair is so distinctive in shape, and so similar to that shape (and size) to her mother Princess Mary's hair brooch, that I think they are likely the same. Easy for a strand of hair or an angle to hide one of the stems, but the two pieces are so much alike that I wouldn't think it's a coincidence. I'm no authority though! What I'm struck by is the beautiful posture of all three younger children of the Crown Prince couple. Thanks again. Previous Message It is hard to tell if they are the same... but I am leaning slightly towards that they are not the same brooch... ..

I think you are right. It does remind one of the popular design of Middle East jewelry. Could it be a gift? And from whom if so? Previous Message Eider way its a very beautiful piece, and I wonder if there are some matching items (earrings... ring... necklace?) Does anyone have any idea of the provenance? It reminds me of some popular designs of jewelry gifts from Midlle Eastern royals...

The only photo I could find where this large ring is visible. Sadly the ring was not visible in the oficial photos. Possibly a matching piece from the same set of jewels as the bracelet? The colour, shape and size of the gem seems a perfect match. And another well known bracelet of a very similar design, the saphire set gifted by the saudi king to the late princess Diana. unlimited image hosting I actually believe several princesses/queens of the new generation have also received lavish jewelry gifts from Midlle Eastern royals. Perhaps they find the pieces too grand or ostentatious to be worn frequently, or sometimes showing such gifts could be a sort of embaressment diplomatically speaking... We certainly know that the late Queen Elizabeth received several of these gifts, as the then Duchess of Cornwall, as did Queen Sofia, Queen Margrethe, Queen Silvia ... Recently Queen Letizia was gifted a pair of beautiful diamond earrings (at least...) by the Qatary royals and she has several large jewelry pieces, mainly rubi and saphire earrings, that I would definately think are Midlle Eastern gifts, so I would not find it unusual that the future Queen of Denmark has received such jewelry gifts at some point, probably as wedding gifts.

Thanks! But I do not recall the Crownprincely couple having been in the Mittle East lately. Or having received official guests from someone who could be the potential giver, if so. Just speculations! But could the bracelet come from The Queen? During time she could potentially have received a gift like this on one of her many visits. And I think The Queen has said that she do not like to wear bracelets which would make it a good reason to hand over to the next in line. Well! We might never know.
