And the necklace Her Late Majesty referred to as "my best diamonds", made of diamonds given to then Princess Elizabeth for her 21st birthday in South Africa

The tiara apparently had had a good cleaning and sparkles now wonderfully again.

Yes, definatelly the tiara was cleaned, the sparkle is wonderful.

I am so very glad HM is starting to wear some more jewels from the late Queen. Altough I love the George VI suite we have seen that one several times on Queen Camilla.

But I have to say no one wore the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara better than Queen Elizabeth... Her oficial photographs in the early years of her reign wearing this tiara are some of the most iconic pictures of the XX century.

yes it does look wider, I think it must be flexible because I’ve seen a photo of Queen Mary wearing it when she was younger and it sat on top of her head like a coronet.

I’m thrilled this tiara is gracing the head of a third queen! (and it DOES look more sparkly, maybe the old queen regnant thought cleaning one’s diamonds was too much of a luxury)

The tiara seems to be sitting on an added very narrow band, for height?

Our memories of the beloved Queen Elizabeth II are still very strong.
That tiara is the item of jewellery most closely associated with her, in life, in portraits, on stamps and on coins still in circulation.
The speed with which iconic symbols of the reign of a queen regnant are being dismissed is distressing.
Not even her crimson robe worn at her coronation and followed by countless state openings of parliament has been spared.
So much for recognition of the longest reign in British history, man or woman.

Jewels are meant to be worn. How long do Queen Elizabeth’s pieces need to “cool down” before someone else can wear them? Queen Alexandra wore Queen Victoria’s small crown immediately for her first Parliament.
How much of this is about Queen Elizabeth’s memory? or is it just that Camilla is wearing the pieces? I’m pretty sure I’ve read people saying they hope the iconic pieces are seen again with Catherine.

Another way of looking at it is that it's a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II--a reminder of her. Monarchy is supposed to be about continuity, after all. Too, this tiara was of course first associated with a Queen Consort, Queen Mary. I would not be surprised if QEII made known a wish that Camilla would wear these pieces. It's not good for the institution if the King's consort is de-legitimized; and how long is a 75-year-old woman supposed to wait to wear the symbols of her position and role? An official year of mourning has passed.

I by no means think there’s anything wrong with queen camilla wearing the tiara and I hope she wears all the jewels the royal vault has to offer I personally have nothing against her I was shocked because I just thought it was one piece that would be rested when there’s so much to choose from in the royal vault

The jewels have passed on to Charles, not Camilla and apparently - and not surprisingly - he has given his wife FULL access to the jewels he now owns. Should Charles or his courtiers have given the insensitively wicked Queen a list of items too closely associated with his Mummy? Seriously! Let's enjoy the fact that this magnificent collection is being worn. Who knows for how long.

I have to say I do agree with those who say that there is no reason for Queen Camilla to wait before wearing the late Queen's jewels. As Honor said it is more a tribute to her late mother-in-law than anything else.

Queen Camilla seems to wear the tiara slightly different that the late Queen though. It looks wider, or more open, in a way. To be honest, the first second I looked at the photo I thought it was the Greville Honeycomb tiara again... like a fence of Diamonds. I suspect she wears the tiaras in this way because of her hairstyle. It is becoming rather iconic and I do like it - don't get me wrong - but it might not give the Queen the chance to wear the tiaras in a variety of ways.
