I believe that the brooch is Russian. It has a typically Russian setting. If I recall correctly, it was part of the jewels of Empress Marie Feodorovna. I hope the information is of use. Previous Message Hi friends, I've not been here for quite some time...however today I wanted to check something out about the brooch the Queen wore today to greet the Visitors... I seem to have lost my link to the blog that was at one time regularly hosted, covering all the brooches etc worn by QEII, but which went fallow during and after Covid. I think it may have been The Queen's Jewel Box, but I'm not sure. Can anyone update me please? Has it all been removed or is it just me...?

Yes, the Order of Splendor and Queen's Jewels Vault has both gone dormant and the sites have been made private, though you can still access some articles through Wayback Machine. Maybe you could find what you were looking for in our article on Queen Mary’s Russian Sapphire Cluster Brooch?

Thank yo for the information. I did know which brooch this is, but I'm concerned that the page I used to read so often seems to have vanished. It was kept well up to date pre-covid, and although it lapsed during the crisis - understandably, as HM QEII was not out & about wearing her brooches - I now can't find it at all. It was such a helpful lace for links to precisely where & when gems had appeared. A sad loss if it's been taken down...
