New earrings for Queen Margrethe (edited)

Attending her first official engagement after her surprise abdication Queen Margrethe wore a pair of silver or white gold (edited to correct my mistake of stating in the original message that they were set with Diamonds) earrings that have not been seen publicly before. Her Majesty was inaugurating the new Prins Henriks Skole in Frederiksberg which also included the unvailing of a statue of her beloved late husband. What must be in his memory the Queen wore earrings bearing the Prince's monogram! Rather touching and an ingenious way to make sure the Prince was present, if not in person so at least in spirit. The school is also known as the French School and Her Majesty's choice of brooch was surely not a coincidence either. Wearing the Rooster brooch that she was given in 1968 she made sure that one of the symbols of France was also present:

Which diamond earring has not been seen publicly?
The one she is wearing are in silver, i believe.

It's so good to see Queen Margrethe keeping us involved with her jewellery worn at events.
She seems to be enjoying her retirement.

Might it be she has made it from cufflinks of Prince Hendrik?
It would be a nice idea instead of forgetting it in a drawer.

They certainly look like that they were not originally designed as earrings.

The design looks like the brooch that was given to female guests for one of the round birthdays of Prince Henrik. Countess Sussie wore the brooch on her hat for his funeral.

I do not know if the gentlemen were given cuff links on that occasion - but I would not be surprised - and then Prince Henrik had a pair of cuff links made into earrings for his wife.

Ooops.. yes, you are of course right. The earrings are not set with Diamonds but rather made of precious metal (silver, or maybe even white gold). Sorry about that. I did not have my thoughts entirely with me yesterday. I will edit the original message to correct my mistake. Thanks for highlighting it to me!

Yes, indeed. It will now be interesting to see her first attendance at a tiara event after having lost access to the grander tiaras in the Danish collection.

I don’t think she have lost access to all as I read somewhere that a certain part of the crown jewels with the use of the queen and family she have the same right, even though she probably won’t wear them being a queen that has abdicated I think she will prefer to let Queen Mary shine

The “enamel” is rubies, sapphires and diamond….the French colours set in the French national symbol of a rooster.

Apparently the brooch is also set with Emeralds, so quite a wide range of gems in that one piece.

Reportedly it was a gift to the Queen when christening a ferry called "Prinsesse Margrethe" in 1968.
