Alice, Duchess of Gloucester - headpiece?

I stumbled upon this photo of the late Duchess of Gloucester. According to the caption she was attending the film premiere of "The Voice of the Turtle" in 1948. What caught my eye was the small circular shape above her head. My eyes could be playing a trick on me, but to me it looks like it is part of a headpiece worn by the Duchess. Could that be so? yes I see it, perhaps a button on a headband? or maybe she was wearing a tiny hat on top of her head and that decoration is the only piece visible. Something is there for sure. I believe you are correct As this is a rather formal event (going to a film premiere in those days was) so I am certain it is not a hat of any kind. It did seem a bit strange that the Duchess would wear to us an unknown tiara. And it is not like she didn't have quite the selection of known pieces to choose from. Previous Message I think it is the cap badge of a man in uniform behind her. See the same at extreme right of the picture.
