I flew to Abu Dhabi earlier this week just to see the magnificent Tiaras on display at the ‘Cartier: Islamic Inspiration and Modern Design’ Exhibit at the Louvre Abu Dhabi, which included the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester's spectacular Cartier India Tiara, among a series of splendid jewels. I’ve seen this interesting piece as belonging to Queen Marie of Romania. I’ve never seen her in a photo wearing it though. Was this provenance mentioned at the exhibit? Previous Message Thank you very much! Splendid! The indian tiara is a favourite of mine since ever, its a magnificent tiara. Many years ago I saw the Duchess of Windsor's amethyst and turquoise necklace at a Cartier exhibition and I was amazed by its beauty.

There was no provenance listed, it just stated that it was a part of the Cartier Collection. However, Tiara Mania has stated that the Tiara belonged to Suzanne Avery Marghiloman née Crets, and was ‘bought for the coronation of King Ferdinand I and Queen Marie of Romania’ in 1922.
