Last week-end. The daughter of Cristina of Bourbon-Sicilies and Pedro Lopez-Quesada wore a version of her mother's wedding tiara with an added fleur-de-lys.
Remember the good old days of Point de Vue? They would have had a six-page spread on this wedding...
I just saw a youtube clip about the tiara. It said the round diamond flowers once belonged to Archduchess Marie Christine of Austria, sister of Marie Antoinette of France and Maria Carolina of Napels and Sicily. I had seen the mother of the bride and princess Paloma wear the tiara set only with the diamond buttons. Their sister Victoria wore her mother's veil and had the buttons in her hair as ornaments.
For this wedding the central button/flower was replaced by a diamond fleur-de-lys. The bride is a goddaughter of King Felipe and i like seeing how close the Calabria branch still is to the main line of the Spanish Royals.
