Amalia: diamond fishnet / trellis motif necklace with interchangeable middle row of diamonds. Wedding gift from Queen Dowager Emma to Queen Wilhelmina in 1901. Diamond pendant earrings from Queen Juliana with pear shaped diamonds from Queen Wilhelmina’s collection.
Maxima: Aquamarine and diamond necklace created for Queen Juliana in 1927. An 18th birthday gift from Queen Emma. Briolette cut aquamarine pendants from Queen Juliana’s collection.
Queen Máxima seems to have chosen Aquamarines as the theme for this year's start on the Parliamentary year as she also wore Aquamarines to the Prinsjesdag on Tuesday.
The Princess of Orange looked absolutely stunning, so elegant and so regal.

The Aquamarine necklace is actually a long sautoir. It has various sections and can be shortened at will. One section with a square aquamarine can form a bracelet. The pendant is also detachable. Queen Juliana wore a very short version without the pendant when she was very young. Very versatile piece! I would love to see the long original, sautoir, version again.

When was it last worn with pearls? Can't remember having seeing it with pearls the last 20+ years

1960's 1970's. I can't think of a more recent outing of the necklace with pearls set in the front part of the middle row. Wilhelmina wore the pearl version most often I think. She even attached pearl pendants.
