Wonder why why never have seen mathilde wearing the necklaxce. Is it not to her taste. Or did it go to some other? Could also be worn as a bandeau tiara. Stefan

It would be a great bandeau but i think she only recieved the earrings and brooch and a part of the belt wich is now worn as bracelet

There are still quite a few jewels missing that have not been worn in public for years or shown up in auctions. The large emerald brooch and cabochon earrings worn by Lilian, the diamond and emerald necklace tiara of Queen Astrid, the Spanish wedding gift tiara, Queen Fabiola's aquamarines, Fabiola's diamond necklace and the necklace of the Tunisian parure.

Jewels are just as often bought (back) directly by jewellers en than sold to clients without making the transactions public. For obvious reasons. Jewels may end up in trousseaus in the Middle East or Asia and unfortunately often not being worn in public. We recently saw a better example of Maxima wearing a known Art Deco piece from Cartier which she apparently acquired from the jeweller.
