Visit King Charless and Queen Camilla to Canada - expectations?

Next week the King and Queen will visit Canada for the opening of the parliament.

What is the dresscode for this event? I assume we can't expect a tiara?

Well, I am not having high expectations. When the Governor-General attends it’s usually regular business clothes with an order pinned to their garment if they have received one.

I agree that it is unlikely that we will see Queen Camilla wear a tiara. Queen Elizabeth wore a tiara in 1977 but she was the head of state.

The royal couple will arrive at Parliament Hill in the State Landau. Queen Camilla will be sworn in as a member of the King's Privy Council of Canada before they proceed to the Senate Chambers where the King will deliver the Speech from the Throne.

Although I would be very happy to be proven wrong I agree that it is not very likely that we will see Queen Camilla in a tiara for this event. I think the clue lies in the post in the programme leading up to the King's speech: I doubt the Queen would wear a tiara for the swearing in as a member of the King's Privy Council of Canada. Let's hope that there will at least be some glitter, be it in the form of a big sparkling necklace and / or a sparkling brooch (preferrably with the "and" rather than just the "or").

I think there is a very good chance Queen Camilla will wear the Asprey Diamond and Platinum Maple Leaf Brooch.
