Louise who married Prince Philippe de Saxe Coburg had such a scandalous life that she lost all. Queens Eliabeth II and Camilla are wearing one of her jewels the sapphire and diamond tiara.
Stephanie married Archduke Rodolphe. After She married Elemer Lonyay, his small nobility made Stephanie banned by Emperor François Joseph and her Father.
She had a tiara and Choker from Chaumet stolen by the Bolcheviques.
Now our Princess Chementine who has to wait her father's dead to marry Prince Victor Napoleon.
They had two Childen, I spoke before.
Princess Marie Clotilde Heirs sold on March 24th 2013 (Orsenat) Collection du Prince Victor et de la Princese Clementine de Belgigue 227 historic items . Among them the engagement ring of Empress Josephine , Bonaparte who was not rich bought a little toi et moi un diamond and sapphire , sold 900.000 euros.
Endly Princess Alix Napoleon . With Prince Louis they had 4 Children and lived in Prangins (CH). A neighbour sold his house 20.000 millions.
She is now 99 and owns historic items and jewels and we will see how much is left. I think she will give the most important part to His Grandson the Heir.

The Widow of Prince Louis Napoleon , who is 99 is still living. Theylllibed i Pragins









Princess Clementine is the only one who had jewels from the main line (King Leopold II). She married Prince Victor Napoleon and had two Children Louis Napoleon and Clothilde Comtesse Serge de Witt.

They inherited her jewels.Princess Alix Napoleon is still living , she had a lot of jewels (alas some were stolen in Paris). What has she now ? A conclict Generation made her Grandson the Heir. His wife wore an Aoste jewel as tiara.

Johan , you are right no tiara was left after the two first Queens. Never in other Royal families, tiaras were lost or sold : We lost the Cartier tiara , Prince Charles Leuchtenberg tiara, Queen Astrid emerald tiara, Princess Lilian tiara , Queen Fabiola Spanish tiara.
The oldest tiara is Queen Elisabeth Deco tiara worn now by Queen Paola.

I know Clementine inherited some of the rubies but her daughter-in-law was never seen in them. I get the impression a lot has been dismantled or sold ages ago. Princess Alix does not seem to have a large collection and she has four children. French law would expect her to leave a quarter to each so even if she has a nice stash of jewels quite a few would be inherited by her daughters and younger son instead of her husband's heir (a grandson).

It's a shame Philippe did not buy any of the Belgian pieces of his great aunt Marie-Jose when her daughter Maria Gabriella put them up for auction.

Stephanie of Baden's gold and pearl tiara was not that expensive (250.000 euro i think). That would be the oldest piece of the collection.
The Leuchtenberg diamond tiara got a bigger price so may have been out of the realm of options. That would depend on what happened to Boudewijn's wealth. He was said to be rather wealthy and we know he left part of his inheritance for a new monestary. If Philippe was another recipient he might very well have inherited a very nice sum of money while he lives of his dotation. In that case he could have afforded to buy more pieces.
He and Mathilde will need more pieces once their daughters and in time daughters-in-law all attend formal events.

As for older pieces im still hoping the emerald necklace/tiara of queen Astrid will reappear and the large emerald brooch/stomacher that belonged to Empress Carlotta of Mexico.

It's a shame Leopold III did not leave his mother's grand tiara to Philippe. By the time he died it was clear Boudewijn would not have any offspring so the throne would end up with Philippe. He could even have provided a clause that the piece should remain with Lilian for the remainder of her life.

The diamond and pearl circlet of the countess of Flanders is in the Albion collection so i don't see that piece coming up for auction again.

After he has been an excellent Regent from 1945 to 1950, hate from Prince Charles and the whole Royal Family, giving his Leuchtenberg tiara to his Sister Marie José.
Hate between the Castle of Laeken and the Castle Argenteuil and no show up anymore only for funerals.(lost of the Cartier tiara)

It's such a pity. If there had been a child of Boudewijn and Fabiola and the family relations had been better the Belgian Royal collection could have been quite impressive.

Well, let’s not forget one of Paola’s modest diamond necklaces can be mounted on a tiara frame to be worn as a dainty tiara.
It hasn’t been seen in that configuration since Paola started wearing her hair short in the 70s. Perhaps one of Mathilde’s daughters can be loaned it to wear, providing Granny doesn’t hate them.
