I'm glad there will be a gala dinner at the Grand-Ducal Palace with some foreign royals. HM King Willem-Alexander HM Queen Máxima HRH The Princess of Orange HM King Filip HM Queen Mathilde HRH The Duchess of Brabant Alse the president of Germany with his partner and the President of France with his wife will attend the gala dinner. Which tiaras will the royal ladies wear? I'm curious to hear your predictions. My predictions: HM Queen Máxima: the stuart tiara in a smaller version HRH the Princess of Orange: I hope she will wear something she haven't worn yet. So I hope the antique pearl tiara or Queen Emma's diamond diadem. HM Queen Mathilde: I guess her grandest diadem: The Nine provinces HRH The Duchess of Brabant: her own diamond diadem ( but I hope to see the laurel diadem from her mother ). Grand Duchess Stephanie.... I really don't know. Maybe the Belgium scroll diadem. I don't think she will wear the Cathedral. The belgian scroll tiara has been a firm favorite of Maria Teresa who has only worn this one the last years. So i wonder if she is willing to part with it or keeps the use of it. As for the new Grand Duchess. Difficult to say. perhaps the Choker tiara or the Viney leafes tiara Previous Message I wonder if Stephanie will wear the massive Braganza tiara that seems to be reserved for the grand duchess alone. I think much will depend on what Stephanie will wear as the new Grand Duchess. If she goes for the biggest tiara in the collection Maxima and Mathilde can go for their larger pieces as well. I hope Stephanie will not opt for the cabochon emerald tiara of Grand duchess Charlotte. Unless she has found a hairstyle and a way to wear it that flatters her. The one time she did wear it was not a success and the tiara also never looked good on Maria Teresa. Ideally: Stephanie the grand Russian diamond tiara Maria Teresa the Belgian scroll tiara (it seems to be her favorite and it looks good on her) Mathilde the tiara of the provinces in the larger setting Elisabeth in her mother's laurel tiara Maxima in a larger version of the Stuart or the Sapphire tiara Amalia in Queen Emma's diamond tiara with the 5 stars That would leave the other Luxembourg ladies Princesses Claire, Alexandra, Marie-Astrid, Margaretha and Sybilla for many of the smaller pieces of the Luxembourg collection. If Archduchess Marie-Astrid attends the dinner we might see the peacock emerald necklace-tiara again. That was made from stones belonging to Queen Astrid and her princess Ingeborg. If Queen Paola loans her art deco bandeau we could even have a jewel from Queen Elisabeth there. If princess Sybilla attends we might see the Spanish aquamarines again. I believe she inherited her mother's sapphire bracelet/tiara that was part of the jewels Josephine-Charlotte received from the Belgian nobles. Just like the emerald peacock necklace/tiara went to Marie-Astrid. It would be great to see Margaretha in the Liechtenstein Fringe but that piece seems to be reserved for the main line only for events. When the sale of several of Josephine-Charlotte's jewels was abandoned certain pieces have no longer been worn by Maria Teresa her daughter and daughters-in-law. So I guess instead of getting part of the revenue of the sale the jewels were divided among Henri and his four siblings. But the saphire bracelet tiara has not been seen. The Peacock emerald necklace tiara might be something like the Swedish aquamarine Kokoshnik tiara. Owned by one sibling but used the the daughters and daughter in law of the other. The Congo diamond necklace and bracelet have not been seen for quite a while and neither have we seen the Amethyst set of Josephine-Charlotte. They might be other jewels divided to other siblings of Henri. The new Grand Duchess has remained in the same dress as during the day events but has added the Belgian Scroll tiara to her jewels. The new Grand Duke has changed into his evening gala uniform. Maria Teresa opted for the laurel tiara of Adelaide Marie but she combined it with emerald and diamond pieces. I have not been able to see if she altered the central sapphire or aquamarine for an emerald. I know today was about Guillaume V and Stephanie but when it comes to jewels and style it was the day of Elisabeth and Amalia. Both young women impressed with their choices of outfits and jewels. Very stylish and individual but both equally lovely to see. Stephanie always had a slightly matronly appearance but she stuck to what she feels comfortable in and what suits her. Elisabeth and Amalia are half her age so I get she does not try to compete with them. She and Guillaume were probably upstaged in dress and jewels but they made sure they were the centre by their authenticity. I think that is why they are so popular within Luxembourg and among the various Royal relatives. Agree. Stephanie killed it with her understated beauty. The Belgian Scroll looks perfect on her and very appropriate. Its not about her either but her husband really. Maxima showed who’s boss when it comes to BENELUX jewels. Elisabeth looked lovely but that high delicate tiara is just not very impressive. Amalia made a perfect combination we never saw before. Queen Emma’s tiara with Emerald jewels… perfect. The Emerald Tiara is not very impressive and frankly a bit of an odd design so this clever. The combo of MT I did not get, at all. I did not get a good view of Maria Teresa's tiara. We know the central stone can be changed from a sapphire to an aquamarine so if she now used an emerald the combination would work very well. I was happy to see that the Chaumet emerald tiara looked well on Claire so there is hope for that piece if worn by someone with a rounder rather than angular face. Previous Message Agree. Stephanie killed it with her understated beauty. The Belgian Scroll looks perfect on her and very appropriate. Its not about her either but her husband really. Maxima showed who’s boss when it comes to BENELUX jewels. Elisabeth looked lovely but that high delicate tiara is just not very impressive. Amalia made a perfect combination we never saw before. Queen Emma’s tiara with Emerald jewels… perfect. The Emerald Tiara is not very impressive and frankly a bit of an odd design so this clever. The combo of MT I did not get, at all. The Lux Chaumet Tiara has a very odd and unflattering design and should have been nominated for a make-over decades ago. Queen Mary would have known what to do!
