It has been reported that the Crown of Empress Eugenie has been found in a damaged condition, but other pieces which include a Diadem, likely Empress Eugénie’s Pearl Tiara, a Necklace and a Brooch, either the French Crown Pearl Brooch or Empress Eugénie’s Diamond Bow Brooch, remain missing.

A Lot of unknown facts…. I read on Instagram that the Sapphire parure is stolen. Really don’t know it…. So sad… Previous Message My worst nightmare is coming true. I'm completely in shock. How is this even possible??? This is an immmmmmmmmmmmense loss for the French royal heritage. I feel like crying.

I was so ashamed of the inadequate security measures when some of the crown jewels of Saxony were stolen. Even though the thieves in Dresden went to a lot of trouble to get into the palace in the first place. But it seems that the security precautions at the Louvre are nowhere near as sophisticated as one would expect. How can that be? In daylight, within moments, using a ladder, smashing a window, opening the display cases, stealing the jewels and escaping. I had hoped that after Dresden, museums of high rank like the Louvre (in this case: V&A, Kensington Palace...?) would at least replace the glass in the display cases with high-security glass that you have to beat on for minutes with heavy equipment to break it. What a catastrophy and what a shame for France 😤😤 how can this happen so easily ? The fact that the jewels cannot be sold is the frightening thing. They will most likely be broken up and the stones recut for sale. All making much less money than these historic jewels in their current form. I doubt they were stolen to get ransom money for them. Previous Message They won't be able to sell them. Marked stones?

The stones will have been dismantled by now and on their way to four different corners of this world to be sold and reset. Why are the diamonds and other stones in such precious pieces not laser marked? That would make it a lot harder to sell them... There are somme substantial pieces from the french crown jewels still displayed in the gallery of Appolon - Crown of Louis XV with fake stones - Crown of Napoleon - Crown of Empress Eugenie recovered but damaged - The 140 carats Regent diamond - The 55 carats Sancy diamond - The 21 carats Hortensia pink diamond which was set on the diamond comb of Empress Eugenie, sadly sold and dismantled in 1887 - The duchess of Angouleme rubis bracelets and a piece of the big belt from the rubis parure. - The duchess of Angouleme emerald tiara - One of the four shoulder brooches from Empress Eugenie pearl parure - The diamond star of the Holy Spirit - Empress Marie-Louise gold and mosaic parure - Empress Josephine coronation pearl earrings - King Louis-Philippe order of the danish Elephant - Eagle of the crown of Poland - The cote de Bretagne spinel - The dey of Alger watch - The sapphire corsage brooch and one earring from Queen Marie-Amelie sapphire parure ? (apparently not stolen). The pearl tiara, the reliquaire brooch and the big diamond bow brooch were part of french crown jewels but the stolen sapphire and emeralds jewels on the contrary were private jewels from queen Marie-Amélie and Empress Marie-Louise. Previous Message Well, at least I have fond memories of Madame, Isabelle, comtesse de Paris, wearing these sapphires. She was the last one to do so, right?
