Danish State Visit to Estonia & Lithuania

The Danish King and Queen began their State Visit to Estonia today and hopefully we will see a tiara at the State Banquet this evening. Estonia has normally stuck to the white-tie dress code for these occasions, so if that is still the case for tonight we will see - probably - a smaller tiara on the Queen and hopefully the King in uniform with his Orders. Already at the welcoming ceremony the Queen delighted us with wearing yet another precious item from the Royal collection: the Sapphire brooch that once belonged to King Frederick VI's consort, Queen Marie Sophie Frederikke, also known as the Flood Sapphire. https://www.kongehuset.dk/en/royal-collections/jewellery/the-flood-sapphire/ What tiara / other jewels do you expect to see tonight? Thank you for this information about the flood brooch. Its an unknown piece for me. Have we seen Queen Margrethe also with this piece? I can't remember. I was aware of its existence, but it is not a piece that we have seen worn very often by Queen Margrethe. However, I do believe that she at least wore it for the New Year speech in 1997: Btw, the image is taken from a splendid overview at TV2 of the Queen's looks giving her speeches over the years. Queen Mary of Denmark is wearing her Wedding Tiara and Diamond Earrings at tonight’s Concert and Banquet at the St. Nicholas Church in Tallinn tonight.

Previous Message Bravo, the queen is wearing a tiara altought its a black tie event. As seen in this picture, it is in fact a white tie event, but the King's uniform only comes with a black bow tie

The Queen is wearing the Sash and Breast Star of the Order of Terra Mariana, 1st Class. King Frederik is wearing the same Order, but a higher grade (Collar). Furthermore, the Queen is wearing the Breast Star of the Order of the Elephant. She is not wearing the Bow with the insignia of a Grand Commander of the Order of Dannebrog though. Instead she wears the portrait of her husband in a Diamond frame. Previous Message Which order is the Queen wearing? Surprisingly the dress code in Vilnius was white-tie for the State Banquet hosted in honour of the Danish Royal Couple. Suprising in a good way, of course. Because that meant that in addition to a tiara (which the Queen might have worn even though it had been "just" black-tie) we also got to see the hosts and guests of honour wearing the Orders they had exchanged earlier in the day. I really hope that in the future now the State Banquets hosted in connection with State Visits to Lithuania will be white-tie events as it is much grander.
