Childless Prince Gustav could have given It earlier to Astrid perhaps? Or give it to his sister Ingeborg, who could give it later to one of het Belgian grandchildren. The Belgian grandchildren inherited not that much jewels from their Scandinavian grandmother…. A total miss because to less jewels. I don't like her earrings because they are new. No necklace , perhaps the Wolfers would be to much. No Brooch on her Sash (waterfall Brooch) because of the model of her Dress. Queen Paola has two necklaces , halfmoon earrings, present of Princess Lilian, a flower brooch with a rubis, other brooches , pearl necklace etc.... Will she give them to Queen Mathilde ?? The Belgian grandchildren of Princess Ingeborg received nearly nothing. I think she was not happy to see Princes Liian wearing her Daughter Astrid jewels and gift jewels. She thought Lilian will give them back to Leopold III Children. But alas no , we did not see them anymore. Previous Message Childless Prince Gustav could have given It earlier to Astrid perhaps? I suspect Paola will bequeath her personal jewels to her daughter and granddaughters not to her sons. In that scenario Elisabeth will most likely receive her tiara. Just before the Royal Wedding in 1960 , King Leopold III gave to Dona Fabiola the Nine Province tiara she wore on her Wedding day 25 years after Queen Astrid. He gave Princess Paola the deco tiara , Queen Astrid received for Prince Albert birth from Queen Elisabeth. I guess that is very normal after loosing her beloved mother at a young age her maternal grandmother must have been even more precious to Josephine Charlotte. It's a bit odd that Paola received the bandeau before the wedding but opted not to wear it for the state visit of Juliana and Beatrix shortly after her marriage. That's why I always assumed it must have been a gift after Philippe was born. On 25th March, the second day of their State visit to Norway, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde hosted a return reception at Oslo National Museum, in honour of the Norwegian Royal family. Queen Mathilde wore on this occasion a pair of earrings that I don't remember to have seen before. They look of Art Déco style, and, guessing from the blue dress, I would think the stones are sapphires. Were these earrings seen before? And are the stones indeed sapphires? These earrings are different from the cabochon sapphire drop earrings which were seen for the first time last year (and which Queen Mathilde wore in Stavanger for the last day of the State visit, on 26th March):

Although it had been announced that she would not take part to the Belgian State visit, due to her poor health condition (and possibly other reasons...), Crown Princess Mette-Marit made an unexpected appearance for the welcoming ceremony of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, on 24th March, at Oslo Royal Palace. She wore on that occasion a diamond brooch with a pearl drop which had frequently been worn by Princess Ragnhild during her lifetime, and which seems to have returned to the main line after Princess Ragnhild's passing. I had never seen a good picture of this brooch, but it looks lovely - with a typical style of mid/late-19th century jewellery. Is the origin of this brooch known? Here the brooch worn by Princess Ragnhild in the 1980s (Queen Beatrix's State visit to Norway) and in 1991 (Crown Prince Haakon's 18th birthday gala):

Probalby the first tiome at the funeral of Pope Francis (there was a pearl looking peaking under her hair, the rest was hidden) and the at the National Day and a few other Events. the biggest piece we are waiting for is Queen Maud's diamond tiara. That reverted back to the main line when Ragnhild died but has not been seen in public since. I would love to see that tiara get some new clusters on top with amethysts so the collection is extended with a full amethyst set. Was the original tiara not topped with turquoises? Perhaps with the turquoises wich belonged original to the turquoise necklace now worn by princess Astrid. Thanks Johan Just some questions here Can you please verify were you have this information regarding the tiara from? Has there been a public statement or something on what went back to the main line after the death of Pss Ragnhild. I would says it really honors the relatives of the late Princess if heirloom of this scale were given back. Or perhaps the princess herself if this was her last will. Previous Message the biggest piece we are waiting for is Queen Maud's diamond tiara. That reverted back to the main line when Ragnhild died but has not been seen in public since. I would love to see that tiara get some new clusters on top with amethysts so the collection is extended with a full amethyst set. I think for Jewels like this it was more so that it was some sort of lifetime gift/loan and never meant to be passed on to her children. The only information I have on it is what her sister Princess Astrid has told Trond Noren Isaksen that when the three children of king Olav V divided the jewels of their mother and grandmother it was decided that the larger pieces would go back to the main line after Ragnhild and Astrid died. Queen Maud's diamond tiara is considered one of these large pieces as is the turquoise set Astrid wears. Ragnhild's children decided to give the pearl circle tiara to hereditary princess Ingrid Alexandra but that was part of their inheritance. Im hoping the Vasa tiara of Princess Astrid will also return to the main line as it might make a good tiara for a future wife of prince Sverre Magnus.
