Jewels in the ‘Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style’ Exhibition

Earlier today, I was invited to the preview of the highly anticipated ‘Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style’ Exhibition in the King’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace, which opens to the public tomorrow! Queen Mary’s Fringe Tiara, the Burmese Ruby Tiara and the Brazilian Aquamarine Tiara are among the jewels on display, which also include Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee Necklace, the Duchess of Gloucester’s Pendant Earrings, the Queen Anne and Queen Caroline Pearl Necklaces, Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Brooch, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Wedding Gift Bracelet, and the South African Diamond Necklace and Bracelet.

Thank you so much for posting. The blurb from Buckingham Palace only listed the clothing in detail but not the jewels. I hope to go in August so it's nice to know what to look forward to. Thank you. Most of these jewels have been exhibited previously, but not the blue bead necklace. I don’t recall the queen wearing it. Does it have any more info? If it's from Afghanistan, would that mean it's lapis lazuli? She certainly didn't wear that stone very often. Previous Message I'm afraid I did not pay it much notice so did not get a clear photo of the description. However, it dates from around 1930 and was a gift from an Afghan official, which is what i can make out from the photo.
