Yes, and as usual no one from the UK. But then, I would have thought that the Princess Takamado of Japan would be present. She has been to some events in Sweden before and I thought that they have some kind of connection. Previous Message You're not wrong. We're all scratching our heads at this one. Also surprised there were no guests from Monaco and Jordan. Both countries were represented at previous round birthdays. Previous Message Yes, and as usual no one from the UK. Perhaps it is due to the accident suffered by Prince Odysseas-Kimon - son of the Crown Princely couple - not that long ago. It was quite serious, but according to the family things are going well now. But maybe the still want to make sure they are close to their son / brother / grandson at this time. I would have expected Queen AnneMarie as a representative of the Greek RF and a cousin of the King. The Jordan royals don t seem that much interested in closer relationships with the European Royal Houses but they did invite all European royal houses for the wedding of the Crown Prince. I don t think the King and Queen of Jordan are close with any of them. The last to have close friendships with most RF were Queen Noor, Prince Hassan and Princess Sarvath although the CP couple seem somewhat closer to William and Catherine. I suspect the Greeks reckon themselves Windsor-adjacent due to their close family relationship to the late Duke of Edinburgh. After all, Queen Elizabeth herself attended the Crown Princes wedding, which she never does.So I think they think themselves fancy, and perhaps want to emulate the Windsor with selective representation at continental royal events. The interesting thing is King Carl Gustav’s German mother Princess Sybilla and Crown Prince Pavlos’ German grandmother Queen Frederica were cousins, so there’s Queen Victoria blood uniting the two families. I’m more interested by The Prince of Monaco did not attend, because I thought it was publicized that he was supposed to. I think its pretty customary to invite the European royal Heads of State so Monaco would have been included. Albert shows up now and then but almost always without his wife who does not seem to be up for the task of representing her country abroad nor the House of Grimaldi for that matter. She only glitters and does engagements in her own principality and the number of times an be counted on one hand. Caroline, as Princess of Hanover, was invited to royal parties for some a period of time but that seems to be in the past as well. Awkward family.. Previous Message Was Albert of Monaco invited?
