Harriet is in a tiara i've not seen before, diamonds and pearls resembling the newer tiara of Princess Claire of Belgium a bit. Not a piece the Princess Royal has been seen in. Nice to see a new addition

Is it a loan or did she acquire the piece? I don't like this Pragnell tiara which belongs to the family and is a loan . No comparaison with Princess Claire second pearl and diamond tiara. This tiara from Pragnell is much more elegant and sophisticated than Claire’s which is rather a mediocre Edwardian tiara, at best. Why is she referred to as Harriet Sperling when she is divorced and her maiden name is Sanders? Odd. Previous Message I don't like this Pragnell tiara which belongs to the family and is a loan . Mrs Philips has one daughter and two stepdaughters who might need a tiara when they walk down the aisle. We don't know what HRH the Princess Royal will do with her jewels. The bride wore an expensive Emilia Wickstaed dress such as her bridemaids with a dramatic Veii and borrowed Pragnell tiara. I Did not like this Wedding at all. To me it is odd as in my country (NL) most women don t even take their husband' s name to begin with and when they do they change back immediately when separated or divorced. But perhaps it is still a practise in some countries and in some circles to continue using your ex-husband's name especially when it's a posh name but it comes across as rather old-fashioned. If you can change your name upon marriage for all your friends, family and business contacts you can change it back when divorced. It requires some administrative work but it can be done in a day. It is interesting to note the different customs, old and new, in different countries. For example, where I live it is not customary that husbands take their wives' surname or invent a combination of both names. From what I have been told by divorced women I know, they often keep their married name if they have school-aged children. For some reason they find it easier to have the same name as their children. Just as many women keep their own name if they are established professionally, the opposite is true if they built name recognition under their husband's name. I doubt the former Ms. Sperling kept her name because she thought it was posh. I'm assuming you are referring to the UK. I looked that up and there's no legal requirement either way. A woman may continue to use her husband's name which she adopted upon marriage or she may choose to use her birth name. For example, to get a new passport under her birth name she would have to provide her marriage certificate and her divorce decree absolute. Interesting that you say it's 2026. When I married in church almost 50 years ago, I eshewed the custom of wearing my veil over my face for my husband to lift at the altar. I thought at the time it was an anachronistic custom, but this lovely bride decided to use it. What a boring world if we all had the same opinion. Previous Message Indeed. Indeed the former Mrs Sperling seems to be quite the traditionalist in some respects but marrying in white the second time around is less traditional and perhaps even rather unconventional.
