Absolutely stunning! The combination of that historical House Diamond Tiara with the ultra design dress by Iris van Herpen is absolutely stunning and daring! Amalia with her favorite ruby tiara and the necklace with that deep red dress that (finally) matches the deep red rubies (pigeon blood) is equally stunning. Ariane picture perfect with Queen Emma’s diamond tiara. Beatrix predictable with understated bling: the bandeau and a diamond riviere with one of her best dresses. Laurentien equally predictable but the Laurel wreath suits her best. Margriet with the fringe tiara also very modest but beautiful. Empress Masako innthat spectacular dress with one of her most important tiaras is simply amazing! We won t see this happening again soon! I think Maxima wore the Stuart tiara better this time as it was not leaning back as much as the two previous times she wore it. Margriet in the diamond fringe is my personal favorite. That tiara looks so good on her. One thing is certain Maxima's daughters have inherited their mother's love of grand jewels. They are not opting for the smaller pieces from the collection but tiaras worn by Queens. As for niet seeing something like this again soon. Next week in Belgium there is going to be quite a large group of royal ladies attending as well: HM Empress Masako HM Queen Mathilde HRH the Duchess of Brabant HRH Princess Eleonore HRH Princess Astrid HRH Princess Claire Unfortunately the Belgian ladies don't have the jewel collection to rival the Dutch collection but it's certainly going to be another grand event and also another first tiara appearance of a young Princess. Now it's becoming time that Leonor of Spain gets her first event. Im looking forward to what she and her sister will wear. Part of me is hoping that they may have been the ones inheriting some of late Princess Irene of Greece and Denmark's three tiaras. Previous Message Absolutely stunning! I must say that the Empress surprised me, and pleasantly so. It was so "refreshing" to see her in something else apart from the white gowns she usually wears for these kinds of events. And it was also nice to see the Honeysuckle tiara worn again! It rather suits the Empress I think. I had maybe expected more Pearls to be worn, but there were not a lot of those - if any. Lots of sparkling Diamonds though, and I like that Great to see the Stuart Diamond again. Queen Emma's Diamond tiara suits Princess Ariane. It was a good choice for her first tiara event. Interesting to see that the Princess of Orange was awarded the Order of the Chrysanthemum (as the heir) and not the Order of the Precious Crown like her mother had been previously. It is the same with the Orders in Sweden. Victoria also has the Order of the Chrysanthemum, and Silvia the Order of the precious Crown. I was referring to the unique gathering of the most senior Dutch Royal women. We don t often see such a display of Royal Dutch Jewels in public and they nailed it. The late Princess Irene of Greece and Denmark's three tiaras. Which ones would that be? I have read that she had to sell some jewels during the exile with her mother in what i recall was India. The tiaras are all well and fine and it is interesting to see who wears which one. But these are rather "well-known" pieces by now I should imagine to most of us who visit this board frequently. What about the other pieces worn? I was especially intrigued by the bracelet worn by Princess Margriet. It looks like a bangle of some sort. Has anybody had a better view of it? Or has something like that been seen worn by her previously? If I am right both Queen Maxima and the former Queen Princess Beatrix wore separate parts of the magnificent Dutch East Indies bracelet, Maxima the more ornate part and Beatrix the double rows. And I just couldn't help myself to post this maginificent photo of Princess Margriet. Amalia wore the necklace belonging to the parure but both Beatrix and Margriet were wearing diamond rivieres and I don't think either of the was wearing the part belonging to the diamond necklace/tiara of Queen Wilhelmina. That means the Dutch collection has at least two other rivieres. Previous Message The tiaras are all well and fine and it is interesting to see who wears which one. But these are rather "well-known" pieces by now I should imagine to most of us who visit this board frequently. What about the other pieces worn? I was especially intrigued by the bracelet worn by Princess Margriet. It looks like a bangle of some sort. Has anybody had a better view of it? Or has something like that been seen worn by her previously? If I am right both Queen Maxima and the former Queen Princess Beatrix wore separate parts of the magnificent Dutch East Indies bracelet, Maxima the more ornate part and Beatrix the double rows. And I just couldn't help myself to post this maginificent photo of Princess Margriet. Much was made of Princess Ariane (rightly so) on this occasion but I thought Princess Margriet looked amazing:

You are 100% correct! Previous Message I believe (not 100% sure) that Princess Ariane is actually wearing her mother's twin bangles that the Queen wore herself to the return event hosted by the German president on his State Visit to the Netherlands just a few days ago. Instead of wearing them on the same wrist as the Queen did Princess Ariane is wearing one on each wrist.

The bangle princess Margriet is wearing is awell known piece. It has some diamond and an orange ston. My theory is there are two diamond rivieres that were created from the diamonds in the base of the Wedding Gift Tiara / Necklace from 1901. One has larger diamonds graduated in size (the one Margriet was wearing) and one has smaller diamonds almost the same size. They both have an open setting. The other diamond riviere necklace is much older and has a closed back setting dating back to the (early) 19th century. Beatrix was wearing this piece. The riviere with the large diamonds (King Willem III's gift to Queen Wilhelmina) was not on display. So at least 4 rivieres in my book. I think Beatrix was wearing the necklace from Maria Feodorvna, mother of Queen Anna Pavlovna of the Netherlands, Queen Catherina Pavlovna of Wurtemberg and hereditairy Grand Duchess Elena Pavlovna of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (probably inherited by one of the two queens). The largest is from the necklace/tiara that Willem III gave his daughter Wilhelmina for her 9th birthday. The two smaller i have seen but i'd never put them as part of the jewels made from Wilhelmina's wedding gift parure. That is an interesting thought. If so there may be a fifth as one seems to have come through Anna Pavlovna and another through Sophie of Wurtemberg. High time the Dutch Royal collections invite an author to write a decent book about these treasures.
