Tiaras in Belgium tonight!

First pictures are coming out! Empress Masako is in Princess Chichibu’s Diamond Honeysuckle Tiara and Necklace and Queen Mathilde is wearing the Nine Provinces Tiara for tonight's State Banquet at the Château de Laeken! Hopefully we will get the pictures of the other family members soon! UPDATE: Empress Masako wore Princess Chichibu’s Diamond Honeysuckle Tiara and Necklace with the Order of Leopold. Queen Mathilde wore the Nine Provinces Tiara and her Diamond Earrings with the Order of the Precious Crown, The Duchess of Brabant wore the Laurel Wreath Tiara and Diamond Fringe Earrings with the Order of the Chrysanthemum. Princess Eléonore wore a Diamond Tiara which was an 18th Birthday gift from King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, made by Brussels Jeweller Coosemans, it had been sold at auction in 2019 for €26,000. No decorations for Princes Gabriel and Emmanuel, and Princess Eleonore. Have they not received the Belgian Order of Leopold like their sister and uncles/aunts? Also odd that Princess Elisabeth was the only one who got an japanese Order. No one else. Not even Prince Lorenz and Princess Astrid when in NL everyone got one Previous Message No decorations for Princes Gabriel and Emmanuel, and Princess Eleonore. Great Pictures to night . Emperor and Empress with the Leopold Order King Philippe and Queen Mathilde with the Nine Province tiara and lucky Queen Fabiola earrings. They had already their Japanese Orders Princess Eleonore with a small tiara. I thought Prince Gabriel had the Order of leopold but has to wait until ?? Could it be used as a necklace (Rivière), brooches,..? Since 1999 there are 5 new tiaras in Belgium. Not that bad! It's not a very large tiara but for a young princess quite suitable and wearable. Im not a big fan of the design with the middle line through the piece. Still the princess has her own tiara and it's bigger than the one Claire got for her wedding. The Belgian Royal family never gave Astrid a tiara so things are looking up. We can expect future brides of Gabriel and Emmanuel to receive pieces too. That would leave Mathilde's jewels to Elisabeth and we can slowly see a crowncollection being formed. In time she could have: 9 Provinces tiara Wolfers necklace/tiara Laurel tiara Vestey tiara Diamond brooch and several sets of diamond earrings Still nothing grand but at least a little more than her mother and grandmother had at their disposal. I do lament the fact that the jewels owned by Queen Elisabeth, Queen Astrid, Queen Fabiola, the count of Flanders and the pieces sold by the daughters of Queen Marie-Jose are no longer part of the collection. I agree, and the closeups don’t flatter the rose cuts either. They’re somewhat gray? or maybe just bad photography. In a way but they could have had several historic pieces: The Leuchtenberg diamond tiara (count of Flanders) The pearl tiara of Stephanie of Baden (Queen Marie-Jose) The Turquoise demi parure of the Countess of Flanders (Queen Marie-Jose) The Cartier diamond tiara of Queen Elisabeth The diamond and emerald necklace/tiara of Queen Astrid The Spanish Wedding gift tiara If you compare that to the five you mentioned it's a bleak result. It’s exciting to see the new tiara acquisitions in Belgium. I think the new pieces are lacking a velvet wrapped base to make them stand out for ideal placement on the head. For example, the small tiara gifted to Princess Martha Louise for her 18th birthday is very small and modest but quite visible because of the good base. With all the attention going to her younger sister and her new tiara I think we have not said enough about Elisabeth wearing her third tiara and this is by far my favorite on her.
