Me too. But as I have written before on this board. I am convinced, this is due to one main thing: They do not have the money to do so And I have to say by looking at The Queen of Denmark in public appearances, that I begin to believe that they might not at all be interested in jewellery. Not in the same way as you see The Queen of The Netherlands fx. She is always showing off some of their best pieces even on smaller events. Still the tiara of Princess Thyra has royal provenance and is more substantial than Mary's wedding tiara or the necklace/tiara she bought. If Christian married while his grandmother is still alive his wife will need a tiara. Princess Josephine is growing up fast so she will probably get her mother's wedding tiara considering her sister got the small turquoise tiara of Queen Margrethe. That leaves Mary with the personal use of the Ruby tiara and the necklace/tiara. Once her sons marry their brides need a tiara each. Mary has non to spare since she will need some jewels as the wife of a retired king or the queen-mother. Princess Thyra's tiara would have been a great piece for the future crown princess and that would only leave a new piece to be bought for Vincent's bride. That leaves the pearl poire tiara from the foundation & emerald parure from the Crown jewels for the Queen. The Bolin sapphire tiara originally belonging to Queen Alexandrine sold at auction for DKK 200,000,000. The private owner has loaned it to the Amalienborg museum. 250 000€ For me that is a lot of money but if you think about the Royal history….. wow The Coosemans Tiara of Eleonore of Belgium was about 25 000. The Ruby set was left by Queen Ingrid to crown prince Frederik not to the crown prince. As Mary was allowed to alter the set im guessing she has either free use or possibly full ownership of the set. So it will not go automatically to Christian's wife. Mary only has use of the crown sets for the duration of her husband's reign. Once he abdicates or dies she will only be left with the pieces she had as crown princess minus the ones she hands over to her children. You may be right although there is the possibility that Queen Mary will pass the ruby parure to her eldest son when he marries as did Queen Alexandrine while she was still Queen Consort. Queen Ingrid wore the set as Queen Dowager as her grandson was not married by the time she died. Once Mary passes on the ruby set she is left with only her wedding tiara and the necklace tiara that are hers after her husband's reign ends. Neither of them are particularly grand and suitable for a Queen or Dowager Queen. Im also not taking into account that most likely at least one of these pieces will go to either Josephine or Vincent's wife (there is the possibility both will go to younger members assuming the Baden Palmette goes to Christian's wife). I think it would be a good idea if the Danish Royals reconsidered their use of jewels and use the already existing trust to create a pool of jewels to be used by multiple members of the family like we see in Luxembourg, Sweden and the Netherlands. Previous Message Still the tiara of Princess Thyra has royal provenance and is more substantial than Mary's wedding tiara or the necklace/tiara she bought. If Christian married while his grandmother is still alive his wife will need a tiara. Princess Josephine is growing up fast so she will probably get her mother's wedding tiara considering her sister got the small turquoise tiara of Queen Margrethe. That leaves Mary with the personal use of the Ruby tiara and the necklace/tiara. Once her sons marry their brides need a tiara each. Mary has non to spare since she will need some jewels as the wife of a retired king or the queen-mother. Princess Thyra's tiara would have been a great piece for the future crown princess and that would only leave a new piece to be bought for Vincent's bride.
