Just only one day after the death of HM King Harald of Norway we remember the death of his aunt HM Queen Astrid of Belgium in 1935.

Her most iconic tiara can be divided into different jewels. Perhaps an idea for HM Queen Mathilde to create different looks.

The bandeau with empty arches (like HM Queen Fabiola did)

The bandeau with the diamond set on stalks (original tiara)

Only the stalks with the diamonds.

The diamonds on the bandeau (like HRH Princess Lilian of Rethy did on the artdeco bandeau of HM Queen Elisabeth)

Only the arches (with and without diamonds)

The diamonds put together as a bandeau (like HRH princess Lilian of Rethy did as extra base on her Cartier Flower tiara)

The diamonds on a necklace (like HM Queen Astrid did)

are we allowed to use AI here? I wonder because no one has ever mentioned it.
If no one is opposed? here is how the Nine Provinces might look if the arches were worn by themselves.

Dear Hans, if i’m not mistaken the photo of Queen Astrid in profile is not of the Nine Provinces arches by themselves, but rather it’s her much-discussed emerald tiara which was later broken up/or sold.

Can you repost? I am very interested to see the result. I often wondered why they never thought of those configurations: only the arches and diamonds and only the diamonds. Almost like Princess Mabels wedding tiara. I actually don t like the full version of the 9 provinces. It doesn't make sense. The bandeau itself is stunning and always prefer to see Mathilde with only the bandeau.

Indeed, but she was wearing the diamonds of the provinces tiara as necklace.

Princess Astrid did not like her Wedding tiara offered by the Belgians with their own money.
She added 11 arches , 25 diamonds per Arch that means 275 diamonds. I am careful about it . This tiara is the only one providing by Queen Astrid. The owner of the deco tiara was Queen Elisabeth. Her emerald tiara is lost.
No Queen after her wore the 11 diamonds as necklace (more than 100 carats) , and I don't remember the bandeau was worn as bracelet ?
I don't know if in Antwerp or at other places they are jewelers who may change jewels as before ? and it must be more expensive also.

Honestly I doubt many people would care if ‘Astrid’s tiara’ was remodeled or configurations were added. You see many royal houses reshaping some jewels so that they can be worn again. And yes it will cost some money but every generation invested in the upkeep of the collection. No exception now.

It would be great if the arches were separate parts. You can create a lot of possible creations.

Exactly! A very unique second and perhaps third tiara and a new necklace.. all by being creative...
