The album - titled "Set Them Free" - was originally targeted for release back in 2015 and consists exclusively of covers of Police and Sting tunes by various artists.
A "soft launch" of the album was finally held back in February of last year with a promise of an on-sale date in March. Then nothing...
Now, Glenn Hughes' version of "Roxanne" has been out since early this year and appeared on the Classic Rock charts. Hughes was interviewed a few months back and predicted the album would be out in April (according to my watch, that didn't happen).
But in the last few days there's been news about Journey's cover of "Synchroncity II" being prepared for release along with an accompanying video.
So it looks like this project might finally be seeing the light of day sometime in the next few months. Along with Carlos' instrumental rendition of "Fragile" and Journey's cover of "Synchronicity II," two-time Santana collaborator Rob Thomas reportedly shows up with a version of "Message in a Bottle."
