I completely agree Jon. What has baffled me over the years is just how much the voice has changed or is it the recording techniques that have improved. I first fell in love with DSB around 1977 at the age of 15 when I happened, quite by chance, to hear her sing The Ballad of the Sad Young Men. I was blown away by that rich, deep, powerful, warm, honey-coated vocal - I got to listen to the whole album (And I Love You So) and have been spellbound ever since. I started to collect her albums and then came across one from her younger years and I barely recognised the voice - so different - I actually, for a moment, thought it was someone else. This new CD release showcases that difference as you listen to the different tracks side by side traversing the years. So I wonder - did the voice change dramatically over the years or was it perhaps the way it was captured on vinyl at the time? In any case - a great CD (X3) to add to the collection. Cheers Mike K
