Well it certainly was a good choice for a first recording. My first was, what else, an episode of TAGS, in '85. TBS had the 7:00 and 7:30 PM broadcasts at the time and was due to show 'Citizen's Arrest' on a payday Friday. I recall rushing to cash my check after getting off and heading to the store where I bought a super-cheap Beta machine with a wired remote. Got it all set up in time and only missed the opening credits. I was grinnin' like a mule eatin' briars.

PS: I wasn't grinnin' as wide though, when faced with the prospect of converting over 200 Beta tapes to VHS when Sony finally conceded. I held out too long and could no longer get my old machine fixed or purchase a new one. I don't like change. I tossed the lot of them.
