I remember 'Blow Out', Virg. Travolta is an audiophile and is outside at night trying to get cricket sounds for a project when he inadvertently records a tire blowing out on a political figure's car, causing an accident that kills him. Using his tech skills, Travolta's able to determine the sound was a gunshot and believes the man was assassinated. Very good film.
