Not sure I can pull out one "classic" that really started it for me. Growing up with no "pay tv", the local channels broadcast many classic black and whites. I would watch classic sci-fi after school, The Three Stooges and Little Rascals on Sunday mornings and many Abbott & Costello films on weekends. It wouldn't be until much later on that I began to appreciate dramatic actors like Humphrey Bogart. Classic film viewing seems to be an obscure hobby these days. I never hear any younger generation people with the interest. I mostly despise watching all modern action or comedy films. All flash no substance or all tasteless comedy, no intelligent wit. Gimme the classics any day over some of today's garbage.
