The Mayberry Grand: The Unseen (1945)

I finally got to watch this film. I had wanted to see it for a long time since it had Gail Russell in it and it seems to get mentioned when "The Uninvited", 1944, comes up in topic.

I thought it was a decent little thriller, but it is certainly no Uninvited. It is yet another branch off of the tale called "The Turn of the Screw", but this version has absolutely no supernatural elements, which sorta killed it for me. Also, I think I could go through the rest of my life without ever seeing another film with this story basis! How many times was this story told? This would have been one of the earlier ones though, but "The Innocents" is the best version.

Points for Gail Russell. Jole McCrea seemed very flat. Points for being a black and white classic.
