First time watch:
The Silent Partner (1978)
Crime film with Elliott Gould. Well done, entertaining and it takes place during Christmas!
8-bit Christmas (2021)
Basically, a re-telling of "A Christmas Story". A kid in the 80's wants a Nintendo for Christmas. Much better than I thought it would be. Nostalgic.
I liked that it was a throwback.
I took the trip down "Honeymooners" lane, watching "Twas The Night Before Christmas" and the latter version of "Santa and the Bookies". I also watched the Color Honeymooners Christmas special. Always love to re-visit the Kramdens and Nortons!
My soapbox moment:
So, I watched my annual Christmas Eve viewing of "It's A Wonderful Life". I always start my DVD at the same time as the local primetime broadcast. The local broadcast aired in a 3-hour time slot. The picture quality of the broadcast was subpar. My DVD runtime of the film is 2 hours and 10 minutes, so I finished 50 minutes earlier, commercial free with a pristine picture. Physical Media rules for the intelligent viewer!
I also wanted to watch just a peek at the Three's Company episode "Threes Christmas", its always fun. I saw it was coming on "Antenna TV", so I turned it over. It starts, and I immediately notice that they had "cut out" the entire opening sequence with Janet, Chrissy and Jack walking around the Christmas tree and apartment. I said: 'NOPE!" and popped in my DVD! Go with the DVD Virg, go with the DVD!
P.S., Murry Christmas!
