The Gunter Wand is miles better than Karajan's 1966 or any other one he made. It has a feel of HIP something which Wand disapproved of, he must have gone over the score carefully and rehearsed it 40 times to make the recording which ended up on Testament. Also he did not have a balance engineer or a chorus master he had to drill both chorus and orchestra. I think he did a good job.
