Oh you see we
Are one hundred and eighty eight
A unit of fine renown
We don't want to fly and we don't want to fight
We don't like Berlin when the moon's too bright
We've far better things to do in the night
[indecipherable] London town
We've love and London town [?]
Here come one hundred and eighty one
Or are we eighty two?
No, three - no, four - no, five - no, six
One eighty seven, the [indecipherable] tricks
We're one eighty eight on the line
We're one eighty eight on the line
[indecipherable] we
Are one hundred and eighty eight
A unit of fine renown
We don't want to fly and we don't want to fight
We don't like Berlin when the moon's too bright
We've far better things to do in the night
[indecipherable] London town
[indecipherable] and London town
Does anyone know the lyrics to the "Squadron Song," in the film "Appointment in London," 1953, written by the great John Wooldridge?
The song is sung by a male chorus at the end over the rolling credits. One line is "We're 188 on the line," the 188 referring to the squadron number in the film. But the words are slightly muffled, and I can't decipher them.
I'd be grateful for any information and pointers to where I might look.
