Review Mahler Symphonies Hans Rosbaud
Posted by Ton Goedknegt on June 30, 2021, 11:20 pm
In his review of the Mahler-Rosbaud edition, Lee Denham writes 'live recordings of Mahler’s elusive Seventh Symphony (...) are still very rare – live performances led by Barbirolli and van Beinum are joined by only two others, coincidentally also conducted by Scherchen and Rosbaud'. Not mentioned here is another remarkable live recording: Kyrill Kondrashin with the Concertgebouw Orchestra, recorded at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam on 29 November 1979.
