For me, I related to Rich because it always seemed like no matter what or how he did, he was always on the outside looking in, at the cool kids (The Avengers). If my memory serves, after Spider-Man, he was the next big teen hero to debut. He should have had a seat at the Avenger's table a long time ago. Like the rest of us in real life though, nothing ever comes that easy.
: Ok. Just read it, here are my thoughts. I
: don't like Bendis' plotting, writing and
: scripting of comics under almost ALL
: circumstances since his work on Disassemble.
: With that said and looking at the book in
: hand, I don't believe under any
: circumstances, in any Universe, can Capt.
: America's shield hit, let alone cut off,
: Richard's arm, specially when he is full on
: Nova blast in the middle of a combat zone.
: It's as if Bendis just read the description
: of Rider from 1992 and ignored the hardened
: and powerful warrior he had grown to become
: in his adulthood. I feel that It is clear
: that Bendis either didn't read or just
: simply doesn't care about what existed prior
: to his arrival on these books and these
: characters. Starlord doesn't even look like
: the character who starred in DNA's work in
: these flashbacks issues. Didn't he have a
: beard?? I feel like the whole point of this
: story arc is to get the true Nova fans to
: shut up and go away, which should and will
: never happen.
: I will say that the description of Thanos
: during the battle is awesome, i have to give
: credit when it is due. That whole narrative
: was excellent and very enjoyable. But that's
: all i have on that.
