A number of Nova fans have stated over and over again that corpmen should not be children. That was actually addressed in this issue. The children had to be given powers, just so they could survive.
Now, this Nova outpost - all because it was destroyed, does not mean all other corpsmen are dead. These were the ones at this outpost. Also, we have seen characters die in Secret Wars, only to still be alive elsewhere in Secret Wars.
Lastly, Zigzag as Nova. We have seen cute little animals in the Nova Corps and in the Green Lantern Corps. Personally, I prefer humanoids, but I had no problem with Zigzag.
Again, it seems Marvel is committed to keeping the Nova/Nova Corps idea alive, in some form or another. So they keep tinkering. This tells me we will see some type of Nova book after Secret Wars. I am happy with that. I do not want the Nova concept to vanish. If it does, Richard Rider will definitely not come back.

: So, read through it, and I'm still enjoying
: it. It was awesome to see Thanos use the
: stone (obviously has the time stone) and
: blast a hole in his future self. This is a
: really cool Thanos, IMO. Very smart and
: calculating. Just like he should be.
:
: I was actually hoping that ZigZag wasn't
: going to be part of the Nova crew , but she
: is, and i'll have to live with it. Besides,
: one of my favorite former parts of DNA's run
: on Nova was when the put a Pikachu Nova in a
: book.
:
: I also didn't like that none of the Nova
: corps survived in that outpost and that they
: are all that is left. I was really hoping
: for an alternate Rich to still be around.
: Maybe he will be.
:
: I like them having the Gotg involved in this
: book. It seems to be coming together, and
: I'll be ready for next month's issue!!
:
: Thoughts?
