Sounds like an interesting thread. The imposter doesn't sound like a bad guy from your description.
Looks like they are setting up the Chitauri to be Sam's big alien threat considering they keep coming up in his books. I like the older alien races better since they've had decades to become well fleshed out factions. the Chitauri have always felt a bit one note to me be it in film, Ultimate timeline or 616.

: Am following it and loving it.
: Here is the skinny...
:
: At the end of Issue #1, unknown to Sam at
: this time... readers see that something is
: not right with Sam's dad. A question is
: asked and the reply is “it was the son.” …
: “and no. He has no idea what's going on.”
:
: In Issue #2 after a battle, his father is
: knocked out of the sky (helmet trouble). Sam
: goes to his father, but he is horribly
: disfigured. Sam asks “who are you”. He has
: to pull his face around... and tells Sam to
: “GO” (stop the beast/monster, which he
: does.) Sam comes back to find this person,
: and he (it) is gone.
:
: In Issue #3 Sam flies off to get Avenger
: help (IRONMAN). He will try to help...
:
: Not sure who or what this IMPOSTER is. At
: the end of issue 30 Sam's dad's ship is
: captured. “Security to Warbringer: Our
: stolen ship has been recovered and brought
: aboard. The prisoners are being put in
: stasis as we speak.” Warbringer:”Excellent.
: Once all the prisons are secured, give them
: to the SCIENCE DIVISION”. Why hand them over
: to “THE SCIENCE DIVISION” Perhaps the
: Chitauri still have their hooks in him. It
: would tie in with ANAD.
:
: Is the imposter a Clone, Robot,
: Replicant...? Is his father still alive...?
: Well at the time Sam posed the question to
: Uatu he was. In any event, I plan to find
: out.

: alright to try and steer this conversation
: away from the silly boycott threads again...
:
: So Sam's dad in the new run is a fake? I'm
: not reading so I'm not up on what is going
: on in his comic. Does that mean his dad is
: still out there in space still? If so is
: this going to be his storyline for the rest
: of time?

: Nova #4 seemed like filler content.
:
: The story was basically:
:
: - Sam is sad about faux-dad.
: - Sam looks for help.
: - No one can help.
: - Sam is bringing down the mood of the
: Avengers.
: - Someone tries to get them out of the
: house.
: - Sam is still sad.
: - Oh, oh! Generic trouble in the street!
: - Follow trouble back to iconic generic bad
: guy.
: - Setup for a fight next issue, with nothing
: resolved, nothing really advanced, and not
: much content.
:
: Not the best issue...
