What could help?
I need to see the other characters like Spidey and Cap, acknowledge that they knew Rich was gone. And I'd like to hear their feelings about that.
I need to see Peter Quill express unfaltering shame for accepting that Rich didn't make it back. I'd love to see the tension between them.
I need to see someone like Nita openly not like Sam for (in her mind) trying to replace Rich.
And finally, while I get the mentor angle, Rich can help Sam, but he doesn't need a younger brother in Sam, he already has Robbie.
Rich was such a grounded character, he made mistakes, he owned up to them, and he always tried to do the right thing. I'd love to see him hold a grudge while he heals.
Just my thoughts, in the end I'm just glad our buddy is back. Long Live Richard Rider!

: I was hoping they might've asked a few more
: questions about the long term plan for Rich
: in the series (to find out if they're
: keeping it a Nova Corps series, or if Rich
: will be leaving after a story arc), and to
: get an answer about why the demotion in
: Rich's rank.
:
: Other than that, it was a good interview.
: The book sounds fun and interesting! Can't
: wait!

: This reads very promising. I do actually
: think the idea of a mentor/protege' thing
: has a lot of potential story value. And
: they are acknowledging Rich as a real power
: player.
:
: Sam has always needed someone to teach him
: how to be a hero. Rider's defining
: characteristic is unbending and absolutely
: focus on doing the right thing no matter
: what the personal cost is. Who better to
: teach Sam how to be a real hero?
:
: And Sam can maybe get Rich to loosen up here
: and there --I can see a lot of humor with
: Rich being gone and not knowing things Sam
: takes for granted.
