As for replacement parts, it may be unreasonable to expect a company to make parts for models that are significantly out of date. This is common in the car industry, although there are often third-party made parts available.
Servicing/repair is another aspect that kind of ties into the warranty and fit-for-purpose scenario in my view. Some companies may feel that part of their brand cachet is lifetime repair/service, but by no means can this be expected by the customer for every product, again in my opinion.
