It's certainly not as nice up close but I thought the earlier pics looked good. At the risk of being howled down, I'd like to comment further. I often feel that we try to get too close to the personal possessions of current royals, by prying into where the jewels might be from rather than simply discussing the jewels themselves. It is all very well to discuss the history of jewels that have passed through a number of generations of a family, and which have appeared often in public, in the course of public life by a royal. However, I have a certain sympathy for a newly married young couple being private about private gifts. --Previous Message-- : The official comment ‘Wedding gift from a : family friend’ is indeed as vague as it gets : – in the case of Sarah Ferguson‘s wedding : tiara, the official comment ‘Borrowed from a : family friend’ of course translated in : reality to ‘Newly bought by the Queen as a : wedding gift.’ : : Not a fan of this design – the very nice, : sleek and modern approach on top does not : correspond too well with the rather childish : small flowers suspended from it, IMHO. : Pity about the way how the open hair : clutters the necklace. : : : : : --Previous Message-- : The only information released by St James's : Palace on the matter is that the set was a : wedding-gift to the Duchess from "a : family friend". : : I wonder if it is possible to pinpoint a : jeweller? : It is unlikely the Palace will release any : more information on the subject, as they are : after all privately owned pieces. :
