Taking the elements apart would be no more desecration than their current use. But unlikely, of course. --Previous Message-- : : Those four elements are unlikely to be taken : apart as they were made for a version of : Queen Victoria's Regal Circlet. : : : --Previous Message-- : : Separate the outer upright leaf parts from : their pieces. Place just the leaf uprights : at either end of the central part. The whole : thing would be narrower but more balanced. : And lower it all to sit closer to the head. : : Use the four leftover pieces elsewhere in : the hair or... Brooches or clips or : something. : : : : : --Previous Message-- : Thanks Josefine for these photos : : I never realized (as many times we have : discussed it) what a big gap there is : between the base of the tiara and that ugly : gold frame...I would just add simple strand : of diamonds and just that would make the : look more complete..and it would cover up : all the visible welded spots : : The elements themselves are quite : beautiful..however, design needed better : execution to give more balanced, finished : look : : Hopefully one day she'll redesign this : tiara. : : : : --Previous Message-- : Thank you Josefine. What a nice set of : diamond : jewelry the Countess is wearing in the first : Photo. Do we know any information on their : provenance? : As to the tiara made with the historical : jewel elements from Queen Victoria, I always : get the feeling that something is not right : with that setting... I just wished that HRH : would had them reseted on a lower frame, : closer to her head, but this was discussed : so many times in this board... : :
