Re: The reappearance of Queen Sophia QUESTION ? Archived Message

Roger has allready stated that queen Ingrid told him in an interview that the tiara was still in the family. He did not say if she told him who owned and how that person got the tiara.
Another poster disclosed that the tiara was still with the Greek Royal family again no mention of the owner.

That leaves several options, but all have a catch. to name a few:
1 Frederika left the tiara to grandson Pavlos. The catch being that Pavlos' wife first wore the tiara 16,5 years after their marriage. She loaned her mother-in-law's tiara for her wedding and a few other events and either bought herself or was given by her father the fringe tiara.
2 the tiara was left to another member of the family who gave or sold it to the crownprince(ss?). There the catch is who inherited it, but as it wasn't worn either princess Irene or prince Nikolaos are potential candidates. Neither would have worn the piece and might prefer the piece to remain with the main branch of their family and they might prefer the financial reward.
3 the tiara was in the hands of someone else but still officially owned by a member of the family and only came back to the family recently. Catch is who had the piece and why?

So while reliable sources have reveiled the tiara still was with the family it is unsure with whom and why it only showed up in 2012.

: Do you have references, books, newspaper,
: articles, statements of the royal family on

: I think it is absolutely possible that
    : someone
: other than Constantine or Pavlos inherited
: the tiara. Still seeing how massive the
: piece is on Marie-Chantal i would not be
: surprised if she decided not to wear it for
    : a long time because it's not a youthfull
: piece on her. She may have needed her
: current age and a certain level of maturity
: to feel comfortable in it.
: Though im thrilled to see the piece back in
: action after so many year i have to be
: honest and say that the princess looks much
: better in her own diamond fringe tiara or in
: the pearl tiara of her mother-in-law.

: In my opinion the fantastic event of the
: reappearance of this gorgeous diamonds tiara
    : is not casual.
: I mean, I find hard to believe that the
: tiara was left lie in a vault in the
: possession of the Greek RF, considering as
: RF the King and Queen and their children.
: How many grand events there were in the past
: twenty years, during which the tiara could
: have been worn by the Queen of Greece, whom
: started to wear a diamonds only tiara just
: after the death of her mother, the late
: Queen Ingrid of Denmark, when apparently
: inherited the Khedivé diamonds tiara. Can
: you imagine, if they had that tiara at the
: moment of the grand wedding of TRH Prince
: Pavlos and Marie-Chantal in 1995, the Crown
: Princess would have looked much more regal
: than she already did in the diamonds and
: pearls corsage tiara. What is more, the
: diamond/pearls corsage tiara had no previous
: tradition as wedding tiara, while Queen
: Sophia's huge diamonds tiara was worn by the
: then Princess Frederica on her wedding day.
: IMO it was re-purchased recently by Princess
: Marie-Chantal, who has the means to do so,
: maybe bought from Princess Irene, who maybe
    : had inherited.
: It's not so important all this, the
: fantastic reality is tat we are all glad
: that this historic and imposing jewel made
    : its reappearance.
