Elisabeth gave her daughter-in-law the diamond bandeau for the birth of her grandson Albert the current king. She and her husband had given Astrid pieces of jewelry for the birth of the two older children. Astrid's widower gave the tiara later to Albert's Paola.

Queen Fabiola has handed over the tiara that is considered to be reserved for the Queen and she was given when she married Boudewijn. To hand over your weddingtiara after loosing a much loved husband shows she does care for the monarchy.

The other pieces she owns are with her as they are private property. Recently we've seen Mathilde wear a brooch that belongs to Fabiola so she might have given it to her niece or loaned it.

Queen Fabiola allready stopped wearing big jewels during her husband's reign. Opting to wear either the diamond necklace/tiara or the Spanish wedding gift tiara in it's smaller setting as a floral bandeau.

We'll have to wait and see what happens with her jewels after she dies. It is possible she leaves them to her own bloodrelatives, but more likely that she might leave some of them to her in-laws. A third option im not ruling out is that she leaves them to be auctioned so the money can be used for the convent her husband wanted in his will. I hope that in the last scenario the King of the Belgians will be so smart as to buy the main pieces.

: After seeing Hans beautiful Picture of
: Princess Lilian is it normal that Princess
: Paola, daughter in law and sister in law of
: two Kings wore flowers on her wedding day
: because she had no tiara, is that normal

: Pedro, the sad thing is that King Baudouin
: and Queen Fabiola had no Children.

: At one side I understand Mrs F. van

: being unwilling to share her jewels with her

: The first sentence is about the private

: for 40 years, that Fabiola would enable
: Paola to go out with all possible
