This picture got me thinking about the difference in the way the tiara appears here and in pictures of Queen Alexandra when compared with how it appears now. In the pictures it is much more open, with spaces between the bars. Now it is very "solid". Is it possible that someone (Queen Mary) had it put onto a smaller frame which closed the gaps?? --Previous Message-- : I came across this image of an old Queen : Louise of Denamrk wearing her eldest : daughter's russian tiara. I presented it to : Queen Elizabeth II as a jubilee present, and : beside the typical thank you letter I got a : mail from The Royal Collection saying that : they have never seen this image before and : that it is very interesting. I have never : seen it either - have you? : : : : :
